Bao Living started as a student idea around modular buildings. Through close collaboration, we helped shift the focus to modular interiors, a pivot that turned out to be the right one.

The result is SAM: a prefabricated furniture system that integrates kitchen, bathroom, heating, ventilation, water, electricity and storage into a single modular unit. Our designers and engineers solved the technical puzzle of concealing all utilities, maximised living space by up to 20%, and designed every module for disassembly and recycling.

Beyond the product, we helped build the business: from the initial business plan and finding technical partners to CAD drawings, a user-friendly configurator, and full-scale prototyping. We remain involved to this day.

Bao Living won a Henry van de Velde Award in 2019.
