Funeral spaces have long felt institutional. Sereni wanted something different: a flagship location at Het Eilandje in Antwerp that feels approachable, calm, and genuinely human.

Our spatial designers created a sequence of spaces that moves gradually from public to private. A gallery-like entrance, a round intake seating arrangement that puts families and funeral directors on equal footing, a light-filled ceremony hall that opens onto a city garden, and a private visitors room for final goodbyes.

Every detail was considered, from the acoustics in the intake room to a custom brass shelf for cremation jewellery. The concept is designed to scale across future Sereni locations.
